My New Home

This is my new home that I moved into last month. We have moved so many times that my cousin joked and said I should keep my furniture on wheels...but finally I think we have moved for the last time.
The front yard...

The back yard...

As you can tell, we have some work to do on the deck.

The bedroom...

These pictures were taken before we got curtains hung throughout the house. We still don't have curtains up in the studio, office, dining room or living room...

The bathroom...

The office/guest room...

The kitchen...

The dining room...

The living room...

We have done some things different since these pictures were taken. I will update you as we make progress on the house, especially our studio and basement.
Thanks for stopping by...

Happy Birthday Brennan!

January 26 was my nephew, Brennan's 4th birthday. His mom & dad had a little get-together to celebrate.

Make a wish!

Below is Brennan's little cousin, Lilly. I just love her curls!

Brennan & Logan (his little brother) enjoying the delicious spiderman birthday cake.

Looks like Lilly was too tired to finish her cake...

Logan may have got a little more on him than in his belly...

Below is Brennan's Nana, Grumps & Uncle Po

Below is Lilly playing with the balloons, as you can see by looking at her mommy, she has a little brother that will be here any day!

Lilly & Grumps

Below is Brennan's Mommy, Aunt Emily & Aunt Elaine.

And below is little Owen (Lilly's baby brother) he was born on January 27.
Another little bundle of joy for Aunt Sherri to love!
It is hard to believe that our little Brennan is now 4 years old! It seems like only yesterday that he was born. Our family keeps growing and growing and I am loving every minute of it.
The more children for me to love, the better!
Happy Birthday Brennan!

My Grandfathers

Yesterday I did a tribute to my grandmothers. Today I thought I would do a tribute to my grandfathers. Both of my grandfathers were loving men who like my grandmothers, touched my life in many ways.

This is my Papaw Torchy, his name was John Mullins but the whole town knew him as "Torchy". He was my paternal grandfather. I have a lot of memories of Papaw Torchy. Besides my Mamaw Shirley who is still living, I had the most time with Papaw Torchy. He passed away January 1 2007. My memories of Pap are how he always had paint all over his clothes (he was a painter), watching him wallpaper/paint, he loved to fish and he loved to give us grandkids "beard" (where he would rub his cheek against ours when he had a 2-day beard). One of the funniest things about my Papaw was if you were visiting him and he was ready to go to bed he would say, "I guess I'll go to bed now, you good people might want to go home". I thought that was so funny! But of all the things I remember most about Pap was the love that he had for my Granny. He loved her with a passion and was miserable until the day he went to Heaven to be with her. I love & miss you Pap!

This is my Papaw Bob. He was my maternal grandfather. I have some memories of Papaw Bob, but not as many as I would like. He died when I was only 11. I remember him being the first person that I loved to die. It was horrible for me. I remember my Papaw Bob calling me his "eyes". He would always take me shopping with him to pick stuff up for my Mamaw because he said he couldn't see as well as me. I remember him taking me out on the road to work with him for a week and it was so much fun. One time he built a dam in the creek that ran in his backyard with me and Shelly. I do wish I would have had more time with him, but I know I will see him again one day. I love you Papaw Bob!

As you can see, I have been truly blessed with grandparents who loved me. Thank You God for all of the blessings that you have given me. Amen.

My Grandmothers

Today's blog is dedicated to 2 very special women that I have been blessed to have in my life. They are the Matriachs in my family. They have 2 very different personalities, but they both loved their families with a passion that I will never forget. They both touched my life in different ways and instilled values in me that have made me who I am today. They are my grandmothers and I love them very much!

This is my Granny, Louise Mullins. She is my paternal grandmother and the closest thing to a saint that I have ever seen. She loved her family first and foremost. She and I shared a certain bond that will forever be in my heart. I have wonderful memories of times with Granny especially shopping, watching Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune, helping her "break beans", how she made my birthday cakes every year (my favorite was the holly hobbie cake), but most of all my favorite memories with her were those heart-to-heart talks we used to have on her front porch swing. Oh, how I long to go back to those days when she was still here. My Granny passed away in February of 1998. I know she is making Heaven a little brighter now. I love you Granny!

This is my maternal grandmother, Shirley Dangerfield. I think she looks like a movie star in this picture. My Mamaw Shirley is a fiesty woman, who never would think twice about telling you what she thought. But, like my Granny above, she loves her family. I have precious memories of Mamaw Shirley too, especially how she would sing with us grandkids. Songs like, "I found a peanut" or "Manana is good enough for me". She would tell us stories and play with us. Another fun thing we used to do with Mamaw was go to bingo, one of her favorite things. My Mamaw Shirley is still here with us, but she is sadly dealing with Alzheimers. I pray that I never experience the day that I walk into her house and she doesn't know who I am.
Both of my grandmothers have played a special part in my life. I thank God for blessing me with a wonderful family and the unconditional love that comes from them. I love you both!

Happy 17th Birthday Robyn!

On December 31, 1991 our first (of many) babies was born. I say "first of many" even though I have no biological children of my own. I have however, been blessed with many children in my life. My husband and I started dating in January of 1991 and when Robyn was born she was the first baby to bless us with her love. We thought she was the greatest thing that God ever created. We went to see her every day while she was in the hospital and every day after she got home. When me and my husband got a place of our own, we used to pick her up and let her spend the night with us. I guess you could say we "played house" with her. We developed a relationship with her that to this day is still very strong. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. Now, she is 17 with a drivers license and so grown up...sniff...sniff. I think I am taking it a little better than my husband though. He is very protective of her. God help the guys that she dates in her lifetime!

The above picture is of Robyn on the day that she left for her trip to Europe. Talk about being scared, I was a nervous wreck with her getting on a plane and being in a foreign country for a week!

Robyn is very active in sports and JROTC. She is a loving person and so very funny. I am very proud of the young lady that she has become.

The above picture is Robyn when she was still our little baby. That is my dad holding her. As you can tell they were playing pat-a-cake.

Below are some pictures I took of Robyn last summer. She is such a beautiful girl.

Such a beautiful smile!

She looks like a rocker chic here...she is wearing her Uncle Po's shirt.

As you can tell Robyn is quite the country girl.

I know that the time will come when she will grow older, go to college, get married and possibly move away, but no matter how old she gets or how far away from me she is, she will always be my baby.

I love you Robyn, Happy Birthday!

Holly's New Sweater

Holly got a new sweater for Christmas from her Grandma Sheila. She liked it much better than the Santa hat that we tried to put on her. As you can tell, it didn't stay on her head very long!
